Professor Janet Beer is Vice-Chancellor of Oxford Brookes University and Chair of University Alliance. She has a significant national profile and is the current chair of the steering group for the National Student Survey (HEFCE) and co-chair of the Student Charters Group. Professor Beer has an established record of research in late nineteenth and early twentieth century American literature and culture and contemporary Canadian women’s writing.
