The University of Salford has origins dating back to 1896. Widely regarded as one of the UK’s most enterprising universities with academics taking their research out into the real world. 83% of its research is judged to be of international class (RAE 2008) and 12% judged to be world-leading. 75% of its undergraduate programmes give students the opportunity to complete a work or study placement in the UK or overseas. Its brand new state-of-the-art facility at MediaCityUK opens in September 2011, co-existing with five BBC departments and players and innovators in the digital and media global arena.
