The University of Greenwich  is an ambitious and highly respected university, with a tradition in education that dates back more than 125 years. A multi-faculty, campus-based university in London and Kent, and with a strong international presence.

The University has three magnificent, historic UK campuses. These are based at Greenwich, at a renowned world heritage site; at Avery Hill, in south east London; and in Medway, Kent. These excellent locations mean that the University enjoys strong connections with local and national businesses and employers.

Greenwich achieves international recognition for the quality of its world-leading research, which makes a difference to people’s lives and finds solutions to local and global problems. The Natural Resources Institute, for instance, carries out research and training to support global food security, sustainable development, and poverty reduction in developing countries. The Fire Safety Engineering Group is a pioneer and world leader in the development of fire and evacuation dynamics modelling tools.

With a wide range of degree programmes, Greenwich is proud of its reputation for teaching innovation and excellence. It aims to help each student realise their full potential, and to equip them with the skills, knowledge and confidence to embark on rewarding careers.

The University has gained many national awards, including four Queen’s Anniversary Prizes, nine Times Higher Education Awards and two Guardian University Awards. Students and staff regularly win major awards and prizes for their work and contributions to society. Five National Teaching Fellowships have been awarded to academic staff.

Students continue to benefit from the University’s ongoing investment in first-class facilities. A new £5m Student Hub opened at Medway at the start of 2017, and a £25m conversion of the Dreadnought Building at Greenwich will create more state-of-the-art student, teaching and social spaces. Greenwich’s many enterprise activities have impact regionally, nationally and internationally.
