Funding & Fees

Investing public funding in higher education is just that – an investment. UK universities are generators of economic growth and wealth creation.  In fact, based on Universities UK calculations the overall impact of Alliance universities on the UK economy in 2007/08 was 8.5 billion – this compares to the 4.3 billion of the UK film industry.

Our policy work relating to funding and fees has included submissions to the current Independent Review of Higher Education Funding and Student Finance being led by Lord Browne as well as ongoing discussions with BIS, Treasury and HEFCE officials in relation to funding announcements for higher education.
