University Alliance responds to the Social Mobility Advisory Group

The Social Mobility Advisory Group has published its report to Government today.

Commenting, Maddalaine Ansell, University Alliance Chief Executive, said:

“Universities UK’s Social Mobility Advisory Group rightly identifies the complex nature of tackling social mobility and the need to evidence impact. Alliance universities have a long standing commitment to supporting widening participation and maximising the success of our students.

“However, as the report recommends, encouraging collaboration, with schools, employers and between universities is the best way to do this – to learn from our experiences and to constantly improve. This is a perfect example of why collaboration is so important and why the Office for Students should have a duty to encourage it.”
