Zine making workshop: Exploring the experiences and perspectives of neurodivergent PGRs

Workshop overview

Organised by and hosted at Birmingham City University, get creative in a relaxed and welcoming environment to explore the experiences and perspectives of neurodivergent PGRs, diagnosed or self-diagnosed during this zine making research workshop.

The research project is aimed at gaining insights into learning and progress at all stages of doctoral study. Through PGR’s own stories of help and hindrance, and insights into the processes and practices they have encountered, including supervision, we hope to expand understanding and advance practice in this area.

What to expect:
•    An introduction to the research project and zine making as a creative research method
•    A guided zine making session (no skills required!)
•    Make something unique using a variety of materials such as collage, drawing and words
•    A chance to connect with other PGRs across disciplines and institutions, get creative and share experiences
•    A chance to contribute your experiences, insights and ideas to expand understanding and advance practice in supporting neurodivergent PGRs at all stages of study.
•    All materials will be provided
•    Food and refreshments will be available
•    All participants will receive a £25 gift voucher
