The Office for Fair Access (OFFA) are celebrating their 10th anniversary today of the first access agreements being approved by OFFA.
Maddalaine Ansell, Chief Executive of University Alliance, said:
“Ten years on since their introduction, English universities and colleges are on course to meet over 80 per cent of the targets set within their 2013/2014 Access Agreements.
“This initiative has ensured people from non-traditional backgrounds can access and succeed in higher education. Our universities, where the intake of students from lower socio-economic groups is higher than the sector average, have done particularly well.
“On Access Agreements’ 10th birthday, we can all celebrate how Alliance universities are making a huge difference to social mobility in the UK – transforming lives and supporting the economy.”
