Building healthy cities: Alliance universities case studies

In our Regional Leadership Series report Building healthy cities: The role of universities in the health ecosystem, we set out a case for the contribution universities make to health and wellbeing. The report also explores the opportunities that devolution offers alongside the challenges currently facing the NHS.

Our universities play a unique and crucial role – as anchor institutions – to ensure everyone can live healthy, happy and productive lives. Below are a number of case studies showing how they are  providing leadership and coordination, working in partnership to co-design solutions, making services more responsive to local needs, training the health workforce of tomorrow and harnessing world-class research to make a real difference to our communities.
