Research Professional: Visa pilot blamed for giving unfair advantage to certain universities

Chief Executive Maddalaine Ansell is featured in an article by Research Professional on the government’s Tier 4 visa pilot for masters students.
A total of 27 universities are now part of the scheme that seeks to make it easier for students from outside the European Union to get a visa for masters degrees. However of ‘the 27 participating universities, 18 are members of the group of research-intensive universities’.
Maddalaine said she hoped the Home Office would extend it further, “with greater transparency about the criteria used in selecting institutions”.
