A broad range of scale-up activities are offered through Birmingham City University’s BCU Advantage, the University’s business support platform, to assist regional businesses to start, grow and innovate. In 2018/19, the University had over 6,000 interactive and engaged relationships with small business, with 693 formally assisted through 3 or 12 hour interventions across 9 business growth projects. These provided a range of support mechanisms, including skills for enterprise and entrepreneurship; and access to graduate talent through knowledge transfer.
